Nashville Ballet's official second company

Specially designed for promising dancers pursuing a career in ballet, NB2 gives dancers the opportunity to train with our exceptional faculty, perform for live audiences, and further develop their artistry and technique.

NB2 is divided into two groups, NB2 Trainees and NB2 Dancers. NB2 Trainees receive stipends per performance while NB2 Dancers receive a weekly stipend. In addition, we are proud to offer all members of NB2 tuition-free training, access to free School of Nashville Ballet classes, and a shoe stipend for performances.

NB2 Trainees and Dancers have several performance opportunities throughout the season to perform NB2-specific repertoire in our community and in-studio productions, along with performance opportunities with our professional Company at Tennessee Performing Arts Center. When they aren't on stage, NB2 artists get to work with Nashville Ballet faculty and nationally recognized guest choreographers to create new contemporary and classic works, allowing them to experience the creative process first-hand.

NB2 typically trains Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
This schedule varies during performance weeks.

“My years spent in NB2 allowed for performance opportunities and individualized training, ensuring a smooth transition into my professional career. Spending rehearsal time with the main company gave me exposure and experience, while rehearsal time with the NB2 faculty increased my technique, artistry, and confidence.” - Nashville Ballet Company Dancer, Farin Taft
