2025-2026 Company Auditions
Nashville Ballet is hiring talented and dynamic artists to join our Company and NB2 for the 2025-2026 season! Artistic Director Nick Mullikin has an exciting season planned filled with beloved classics and boundary-pushing contemporary works to celebrate Nashville Ballet’s 40th Anniversary.
WHAT WE OFFER
Guaranteed minimum 36-week-per-year contract
Base weekly salary of $410 for apprentices and $650 for company
Nashville Ballet shall offer group medical insurance, long-term disability insurance, and life insurance under the group plan provided to all employees
NB2: What we offer
NB2 is divided into two groups, NB2 Trainees and NB2 Dancers. NB2 Trainees receive stipends per performance while NB2 Dancers receive a weekly stipend. In addition, we are proud to offer all members of NB2 tuition-free training, access to free School of Nashville Ballet classes, and a shoe stipend for performances. Please click here to learn more.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
Artists interested in our company are encouraged to have at least one year of professional experience working with a company or second company. If you are a student graduating this year or have not had a chance to work professionally, we encourage you to select our second company, NB2, when applying below.
Due to space and scheduling constraints, the New York City audition will be by invitation only. Please submit your materials below to be considered for NYC or a company class audition. Materials will be evaluated on a rolling basis as they are received.
The Nashville audition will be open and advanced material submission is not required.
AUDITION TIMELINE
Applicants are encouraged to apply early in the process as invitations to New York and company class will be limited. Those invited to audition in person will receive an email from Nashville Ballet where they may be offered an appointment to take a company class or receive an invitation to one of our upcoming auditions listed below. If you do not have a prepared video or do not receive a written invitation, you are welcome to join us in Nashville for our open audition.
Please bring your resume, headshot, and 2-3 dance photos with you to audition.
Nashville Ballet will strive to notify all auditionees of the results.

*Audition in Nashville will be held in conjunction with Wonderbound—repertoire/movement with Wonderbound will take place from 1-3 p.m. Registration for both Nashville Ballet & Wonderbound auditions is at 9 a.m.
Applicants for Nashville Ballet, Nashville Ballet 2, and Wonderbound must attend the ballet class. Attire for the Wonderbound audition requires that you wear tight-fitting rehearsal clothing and flat shoes.

APPLICATION CRITERIA
Please read carefully and submit the following:
A video with no introduction or fancy editing, consisting of the following performed in tight-fitting dance attire such as leotard, tights, fitted shirt, etc:
A short classical variation drawn from the standard repertoire, danced in pointe shoes (if applicable)
A short contemporary variation (that could consist of something drawn from the repertoire, phrases from classwork, or an applicant-created work) that illustrates the applicant’s command of a range of movements different from that demonstrated in the classical variation
3-5 minutes of barre work, incorporating both sides
3-5 minutes of center work that includes adagio, pirouettes, and, petit and grand allegro, preferably danced in pointe shoes (if applicable).
Headshot and 2-3 dance photos that reveal the dancer's body proportions and line.
