Alexandra Meister joined NB2 in 2008 and quickly advanced to the company in 2010. In Fall 2013, she joins the Faculty of School of Nashville Ballet as an Academy level instructor.
Alexandra originally trained at Cuyahoga Valley Youth Ballet with Ana Lobe, former principal with the Cleveland San Jose Ballet.
She also trained at summer intensives hosted by Houston Ballet, Nutmeg School of the Arts and Nashville Ballet.
A participant in national dance competitions, she was a regional finalist in Youth America Grand Prix while still in high school and competed in the USA International Ballet Competition (IBC) in Jackson, Miss., in 2010. For IBC, Alexandra performed the variation from Giselle, Act I, and Kitri's variation from the Grand Pas de Deux in Don Quixote, as well as original pieces choreographed for her by Kathleen Spinazzola and Paul Vasterling.
Coached by School of Nashville Ballet Principal Nicole Koenig, she also competed in the 2011 Boston International Ballet Competition.
Since joining Nashville Ballet, Alexandra has performed in Balanchine's The Four Temperaments and in Vasterling's Nashville's Nutcracker, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Rite of Spring and in a pas de trios from Macbeth. She has also been featured in Nashville Ballet's production of Swan Lake, Postcards from the Boys and as the Spring Fairy in Cinderella.
