Lisa Valeri Spradley started teaching at the School of Nashville Ballet in 1997. She has taught several levels of ballet, modern and Pilates to adults, along with classes in the Primary Levels, Elementary Levels and Summer Dance Camps for children. She was chosen as the first teacher in the Brentwood satellite program which now maintains its own campus.
Lisa grew up in Dayton, Ohio where she studied many years with passionate teachers, performed with the Dayton Ballet as a junior member and worked as an assistant to the director in the classroom and assistant to the costume mistress on tour. She danced with the performance group at the University of Georgia while she obtained a degree in horticulture, as well as taught and performed in the Athens community.
Since moving to Nashville she has been involved in dance programs throughout the city. Lisa has been a teaching artist for ArtSmart and developed dance programs for Woodmont Christian PreSchool, Project Reflect and Overbrook School. She has been a guest performing artist with Watta Ribas and Sonje Mayo's Evolution Dance, and currently guests with Jen Lin and the Chinese Arts Alliance of Nashville.
She is proud to be a founding member of the Epiphany Dance Company and is now Assistant Artistic Director with responsibilities including teaching company class, setting repertoire on new dancers and creating original choreography.
