At Nashville Ballet since 2009
Originally from Omaha, NE, Damian has been with Nashville Ballet as a Company Member since 2009. Damian began his dance career with Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and Oregon Ballet Theatre.
Damian's repertory includes originating leading roles in Brian Enos' And Legions Will Rise and James Kudelka's Almost Mozart. He has danced principal roles in Paul Vasterling's Nashville’s Nutcracker (Prince, Spanish, Russian); Jerome Robbins' In the Night (First Adagio); George Balanchine's Nutcracker (Spanish, Chinese). He's performed featured roles in Peter Martins' Ash; Matjash Mrozewski's Straight Life; Balanchine's The Four Temperaments (Third Theme) and Who Cares?; Robbins' The Concert; Vasterling's A Midsummer Night's Dream (Theseus), Carmina Burana, Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella. Damian has also danced in the classics Don Quixote, Giselle; Balanchine's Slaughter on 10th Ave., A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Serenade; Dwight Rhoden's StrayLifeLushHorn; Yuri Possokov's Firebird and Raymonda; Ben Stevenson's Cleopatra; Paul Taylor's Company B; Val Caniparoli's Lambarena; Kudelka's Hush; Salvatore Aiello's Magnificat and Rite of Spring; Vasterling's Macbeth, Salsa Dreams, Firebird, and Romeo & Juliet.
Damian has performed at the California dance festival in Laguna Beach, CA in Kudelka's Almost Mozart, and at the Hollywood Bowl Amphitheatre in Terrence Orr's Romeo and Juliet. He danced in Kent Stowell's Cinderella and Nutcracker in Seattle. He performed in Balanchine's Nutcracker in Anchorage and Juneau, AK.
Damian began learning to dance at the School of Ballet Omaha and Omaha Theater Ballet and continued his training at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater through Fordham University’s BFA program and at the Pacific Northwest Ballet School in Seattle. He spent summers training at the School of American Ballet and the American Ballet Theatre in New York City, and the Rock School in Philadelphia. His scholarship awards include: Fordham University at Lincoln Center, The Ailey School, Pacific Northwest Ballet School, School of American Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, and the Rock School. Damian taught ballet technique/partnering in OR, WA, and NE.
